Gregor Schäfer & Carolin Sieling - Therapy & Coaching for Couples, Individuals and Entrepreneurs

Who’s Behind the Couples and Marriage Counselling in Bad Hersfeld?

Gregor

Throughout his career, Gregor has learned that certifications can mean very little if you’re unable to apply them through genuine soft skills — or if you use them without creating any real impact. In his work as a business coach, especially in the areas of human resources and staff recruitment, he often refers to the phrase “certified & unlikeable.” In individual coaching, many of his clients have already had experiences with psychologists or social workers who lacked empathy, or with coaches who promote themselves primarily through their degrees, studies and certificates.

He has come to realise that some talents truly are innate — found in people who may never have been formally trained as coaches, therapists or trainers — while others, despite their education, simply lack that natural gift. The saying “Who heals is right” cannot be overruled by ego.

Ultimately, he always asks one question: “Is it love? Is love the driving force? Was love the reason behind the decision?” — because anyone who works with people should, above all, be a friend to humanity.

Gregor’s earliest roots lie in sports training. Among other qualifications, he is a certified Fitness Specialist — a title that encompasses rehabilitation training, mental coaching, cardio training, nutrition and health coaching, a B licence, and much more (including an A licence and numerous course certificates). His journey continued with his qualification as a Heilpraktiker (a state-recognised holistic health practitioner in Germany, combining roughly 60% medicine and 40% psychology), as well as additional training as a systemic coach. How relevant his titles as a Communications Specialist and an Expert in Operational Human Resources may be is ultimately for each client to decide.
Gregor has also worked as a refugee support worker, social counsellor, trainer, and as a “Respect Coach” for difficult adolescents (in collaboration with Lothar Kannenberg’s Durchboxen programme, known from German television).

Numerous advanced training courses in psychology complete his ongoing journey of learning.

Gregor has worked in this profession in both primary and secondary roles, and during this time he has written numerous texts and produced a variety of videos.

He describes himself more as a trainer, since his aim is not only to uncover dormant abilities but also to strengthen and refine them. After all, a trainer doesn’t ask whether you feel like training — and sometimes it takes firm guidance: to get up, straighten your crown, and start moving forward into the future. He often draws on many words of wisdom and sayings such as: “Don’t take the path of least resistance — it’s crowded, because that’s where everyone else is” but also: “Before you heal someone, ask them whether they are ready to give up the things that made them ill.” and they are an integral part of his coaching sessions.

Caro

Caro , as a coach, is the complementary and feminine counterpart to Gregor, the “trainer”.

Gifted with great empathy and enriched by her own valuable experience — which naturally deepens through Gregor’s mentorship — she forms, together with him, a coaching duo united by the same goal, even if they sometimes prefer different paths to reach it “Move into action” without an exclamation mark, she embodies the strengths of the feminine side with calm confidence — and not only understands women’s hormonal phases and fluctuations, but truly lives them.

“Sometimes you don’t need advice — just someone who truly feels with you.” With this sentence, she sometimes makes Gregor smile — and takes the whistle right out of his mouth. Then she says to him: “You know what your problem is? You don’t understand illogic.”

Caro has a genuine love for people who enjoy reflecting on themselves, on humanity, and on nature. She knows that in this field, what is often called introspection — when it turns into brooding or endless thought spirals (classified as disorders in ICD-11) — can hold a person back and even paralyse them. In this regard, her patience often proves to be a greater strength than Gregor’s. She loves movement, feels deeply connected to animals and nature, and treasures the present moment — something she and Gregor celebrate together whenever they can.

There’s also a third member of the team — someone we definitely shouldn’t leave unmentioned:

Mrs Tiger — or as she’s affectionately called, “Little Tiger”.

Without ever knowing it, she has taken on the role of the therapy cat. Her qualities are second to none: she purrs, vibrates, is soft and warm, doesn’t scratch or bite — and, most importantly from a therapeutic point of view, she doesn’t judge.

Little Tiger helps without saying a single word. Simply wonderful!

Success with a touch of charm

The (human) coaching duo is a couple — and not immune to conflict themselves. The real value for their clients lies in the freedom to choose whom they feel more comfortable confiding in.

Sometimes women choose Gregor because they want to better understand a man’s perspective — or because they need someone who’s not afraid to blow the whistle now and then. And sometimes men choose Caro, who helps them understand why women think and feel the way they do. And of course, there are times when men simply feel most at ease and understood with Gregor, and women with Caro.

Whether it’s a man or a woman, Gregor or Caro — they complement each other perfectly and together offer a wealth of expertise. However, despite their closeness, they always maintain confidentiality whenever it’s requested.
