“Problems cannot be solved with the same mindset that created them.” Albert Einstein

What is Mind Setting?

Mindset refers to a person’s habitual way of thinking, which determines how they react in certain situations. The term mindset comes from English and has many synonyms: attitude, way of thinking, stance, mentality, or worldview.

A new setting, for example, means recognising and dissolving conditioned patterns of thought — and the resulting behavioural patterns — or changing them. In coaching, this is done with the aim of achieving greater well-being and fulfilment through more positive ways of thinking.

What is Inner Engineering?

Inner Engineering is a term originating from yoga and is shaped, among others, by Jaggi Vasudev (Sadhguru).

His teachings can be seen as a form of mindset work, but they go a step further towards the spiritual realm and focus more strongly on meditation and the various teachings of yoga. For this reason, I see Inner Engineering as a second, complementary step.

My goal as a coach is to use these two approaches to optimise the inner world in order to resolve physical and psychological states which, in severe cases, can even lead to illness. The saying “He can’t change his nature” describes how people can become “trapped” in their patterns of thinking and behaviour — meaning that certain problems keep repeating themselves or never truly disappear. Pills do not help here. What is needed instead is the breaking open of false attitudes, values, stances, mentalities and deeply ingrained patterns of thought.
